The Far West to perform at Northern Rockies Music Festival

The Far West Medina River RecordsMedina River Records Recording artist The Far West has been selected to perform at the Northern Rockies Music Festival on August 1, 2014. Active since 1977, the Northern Rockies Music Festival is held annually at Hop Point Park in Hailey, Idaho. From its beginnings as a Sun Valley Center for the Arts & Humanities event, the festival has grown into an independent two-day show packed with talent selected from the Wood River Valley, as well as from regional and national music scenes.

The Far West will play on the festival’s first day, going on just before the critically and popularly acclaimed Oklahoma band The Damn Quails.

Festivals are great because they usually treat the bands very well,” says The Far West’s Lee Briante. “These types of things are very organized, and from the moment you show up every detail has been taken care of. It’s great exposure to big crowds and new sets of ears. It’s also a chance to meet bands that work in the same genre and see some new music ourselves.”

In addition to the festival, The Far West will embark on an east coast tour in September.

“It will be great to get East for the first time [as a band],” Briante says. “I’m from New York so a few of these gigs should have a hometown kinda feel for me. It will be great to make some new fans in east coast cities.”

Check The Far West’s website for more information about their upcoming shows.
